Thomas Falls Before The Rain

$500.00
Sold

I’m titling this 9x12” plein air study “Before the Rain” because on my next trip out the falls had changed dramatically after a downpour. I liked both versions, but decided to stay with the one I had started. The excess water would have been great to paint, but the shifting pre-rain falls had a narrow quality I liked, and showed off the rocks more. The color was also more of a white/green/blue and less the brown runoff color brought on by a downpour. I’ve included a before and after photo that shows the different falls.
