In this 7x9” sketch I focussed on trying to get the key information as the light quickly faded from one half of the river to the next. I’ll be incorporating this cold-to-warm transition in my next larger landscape painting. I loved how different the rocks would appear, depending on the whether they were in that late afternoon light or in shade.
